As a Securities Market Regulator, SEBI is member of the International Organization of Securities Commissions (I0SCO). Every year, world over, World Investor Week is celebrated, under the aegis of I0SCO, in order to give further impetus to the various investor education and awareness initiatives. SEBI has been participating in celebrations along with the exchanges, depositories, investor associations, commodity derivative trainers, resource persons, etc - since 2017. This year, World Investor Week will be celebrated during October 14-20 2024. BSE IPF has also planned many activities during the said celebrations such as Investor Awareness Webinars/Seminars, nationwide quiz competitions, informative videos, street plays, Digital activities etc.

Bell Ringing Ceremony - BSE IPF will be conducting a Bell ringing ceremony on 1st day of week, at BSE premises, Mumbai , in the presence of senior dignataries from SEBI.
Jingle Making Competition - Propose to conduct a jingle making competition can be a fun and creative way to engage with participants. A jingle competition can be a unique way to engage with the audience and create a memorable experience. Purpose of the competition for encouraging investor engagement is to create a jingle based on capital markets. Participants will submit a jingle video (not more than 2 minutes) either individually or in teams which will be evaluated based on quality, content and overall effectiveness. Select a winner or top finalists who will be awarded with cash prize and recognition on BSE's social media handles.
Organizing Human Chain - BSE IPF proposed to organize a Human Chain event on the occasion of World Investor Week 2024 in Mumbai. This will emphasize the strength and unity of investors in creating a vibrant financial ecosystem. The Human Chain will symbolize our collective commitment to promoting investor resilience and sustainable finance. This event will be conducted at a college premises where students in large numbers will participate and anticipate that this will attract significant attention. Details: The event will be held at Vidyalankar School of Information & Technology, Mumbai wherein degree students will be participating on any single day of WIW.

Street Plays - BSE IPF will arrange to conduct street plays at various busy locations at Madhya Pradesh (Indore, Bhopal, Ujjain) and Nagpur to propagate the message of Investor Resilience and Sustainable Finance during the WIW 2024. Details : BSE IPF propose to conduct atleast 15 street plays during WIW. Total 5 to 6 Artists will perform each street plays and all Artists will wear T-Shirt and Cap displaying BSE-IPF WIW Logo.
Story Telling Competition - Propose to conduct a storytelling competition through video submission on the theme of explaining investment jargons can be a creative way to educate people about investing.
Theme: "Demystifying Investment Jargon" or "Simplifying Investment Related Terms"
Objective: To create engaging stories that explain complex investment terms in simple language.
Video Submission: Will ask participants to create a short video (2-3 minutes) that tells a story about an investment concept or terminology. Language: Specify the language(s) allowed (e.g., English or Hindi).
By this activity we'll be able to host a successful storytelling competition that educates and engages people about investment jargons, making complex concepts more accessible and fun to learn!
Investor Awareness Programs (IAPs) - Propose to conduct over 900 IAPs creating awareness and educating the investors about various aspects of investments through securities market. As desired by SEBI, we will be focussing on bringing participation for these IAPs from the investors who have newly entered the market in last 2 years, in addition to the general investors. Also, we intend to do IAPs for special focus groups like Women entrepreneurs, armed forces, underprivileged, doctors and nursing staff, etc. These IAPs will be conducted through Resource persons empanelled with BSE IPF and some will be jointly held with SEBI.
Nav Rasa Competition - BSE will engage the online audience with a interactive social media campaign during WIW 2024 that will connect the Nav Rasa (emotions) with investor behaviour. BSE will run campaigns around this Nav Rasa throughout the entire week, playing one rasa (emotion) card every day and asking the investors to quote a song, record their video or tag a YouTube song depicting the emotion of the day. This will encourage engagement among the viewers while also understanding the behavioural relation of the rasa (emotion) with the investor. Best songs and interactions of the investors would be pinned and rewarded with cash prizes.
Interactive quiz campaigns - BSE will host interactive quiz campaigns online through their social media handles on various facets of investing to educate as well as engage audience during WIW 2024. The topics will revolve around the investor awareness campaigns and theme of this year viz., digital finance and technology with subtext around frauds, scams and basics of investing.
Amplification of offline and online content - In addition to the above three social media content, BSE will also amplify all the offline and online content through their social media handles. This includes promoting the offline activities being held during the week to inform the audience and improve engagement.
Educational initiatives in collaboration with leading newspapers - BSE will be working with leading digital publications such as Economic Times, Lokmat to educate investors about investor protection, fraud, digital finance and basics of investing through their digital channels. These include podcast, advertorial, infographics, and short reels.
Event at IIM Ahmedabad - Indian Institute of Management Alumni Association Ahmedabad Chapter (IIMAAAAC) propose to host one event in IIM Ahmedabad premises to create Investor awareness in association with India International Exchange (IFSC) Ltd. (India INX) and BSE Investor Protection Fund (IPF) tentatively on October 18, 2024 (Half day event).
Grand Finale of The Hindu Businessline Cerebration Business Quiz - The Hindu BusinessLine will be conducting its 21st Edition of the Cerebration Business Quiz 2024. The quiz will see a range of participants which include Business Professionals, Corporate Executives, students from prominent B-schools and MBA aspirants, packaged as the country’s toughest corporate business Quiz, it will be held virtually across six cities – Chennai, Hyderabad, Delhi, Kochi, Bengaluru and Mumbai. National final will be held on ground at BSE International Convention Hall on last day of WIW 2024.
BSE building illumination - As being done during last WIW, this year also we propose to light up the face of the iconic BSE Building during all the days of WIW 2024 carrying the WIW banner in digital form on the top of building.
